If you’re planning on attending a Miami Heat game at the team’s home court American Airlines Arena this coming season, you’ll need to own a smartphone. The basketball team announced last week that it would be switching over to mobile-based tickets for entry at home games, becoming the first in the NBA to enact such a policy, via ESPN.

According to a statement from the team, the new policy is due to the fact that roughly one in every three fans used mobile tickets to attend games last season. While other teams in the NBA like the Timberwolves and the Cavaliers have primarily switched over to mobile tickets, those teams still offer the option for fans use a driver’s license and credit card to get into the stadium.
