Samsung has confirmed that despite the battery life issues and subsequent recall that plagued the Galaxy Note 7, the company will continue to use the “Galaxy Note” branding for its future phablet devices.

Ahead of Samsung’s presentation on its Note 7 battery investigation, Samsung’s mobile chief D.J. Koh told CNET, “I will bring back a better, safer and very innovative Note 8.” Koh cites the fact that there are lots of loyal Note fans out there as the primary reason for sticking with the brand, despite the somewhat tarnished reputation the Note 7 has brought to the name.
