Nest ups account security with support for two-step authentication

Nest is the latest company to let customers protect their accounts with two-step verification.

The ability to enable two-step is being launched across all of Nest’s apps today. The option will appear under the app’s “Account Security” settings, where it can be enabled with the tap of a button. An app update won’t be needed.

Nest’s two-factor works like most others out there: any time you want to sign into your Nest account, you’ll be sent a text message with a one-time-use code. You’ll need both that code and your normal password in order to gain access to your account.
